Tuesday, August 22, 2006 i am sure almost everyone (especially the girls) are missing NDP ALOT. be it the rehearsals or the performances, i know we enjoyed most of them. at the start of the year, we were told that nanhua would be performing for NDP 2006. at that time quite a number of us were so looking forward to it, whereas some, they thought it was just a waste of time. the first few practices were tough, especially for the flagbearers; running such long distance with our flag. many of us were not used to carrying a flag and run 200metres or so non-stop. then rushing to here and there and tried so hard to do your actions in time and properly. during those practices, many of us were scolded everynow and then, simply because we were too slow or we didn't follow instructions. at the same time, if you had noticed, quite a handful couldn't take those hardships and we end up having empty spaces all over the formations, or worst, even caused abit of confusion in us as we weren't so sure. slowly, as NDP progressed into the later half of the year, we started having practices that was not so tough, but quite enjoyable. perhaps these were just some natural views as we got used to the conditons. after so much hardships that we suffered in school, it was finally the stadium! we met our AIs, took chartered buses, and rehearsed in the stadium. for most of us, it was the first time running down there at the field. under the hot sun, we rehearsed and rehearsed; very short breaks in between; whenever we get back to school, we were totally exhausted plus maybe a little sun-burns on your face? i remebered at that time, i thought that rehearsing in the parade square, really, is so much easier. we had our performance for SYF, family day, NE show, national day preview and preview. SYF: our first performance! many schools were there that day. be it if you're in the band, the marching contnigent, or performers like us. to me, it's was a little screwed up. especially at the start. not to forget that this was our only performance that was under the sun. family day: our first time performing for at least some 'outside' audiences. normally during our rehearsal the audiences would be the staffs, or some other participants. i though it was quite a good show. NE show: performing for the primary students was quite a feat. outside the stadium you see those kids running here and there shouting all along the way. quite some influence when you find that irritating. but still, our first night performance for so many students. preview: quite a big scale performance. i recalled that everyone were so excited/anxious/nervous when we were about to present ourselves to the people. you hear cheers to encourage people and keep them going on. i thought that was a very pleasanting moment to here those words of luck and encourage. national day: the final performance for the moments of joy and tears we had during our preparation. every single effort of these months to be put in all together as one. the sense of satisfaction when you hear the song starting, the people dancing or doing actions and most importantly, the cheers from teachers and audiences! that was very heartwarming. photos photos and more photos for you and me. some in www.ndp.org, some in your personal computer or camera. when you look back at them, you will definitely recall of the whole event. i am sure of that. finally, i find it a regret that this blog is dead for ages. and so we didn't give this URL to yanlong. what a pity huh? we seemed to be unable to contact him in future, nor even see him. i know everyone misses him! except for some ingrates. this was posted by HUIQIN. |
